Dear son,

For those who know my son, you know he is a kind soul who always thinks of others.  He wants to help if he can and serve when he gets the chance.  From cleaning his sister's room without her knowing, to shoveling driveways for the neighbors with daddy, he finds a way to serve. There's a lady in our ward named Sharon who has a lot of health issues with her leg.  She is older and kind and my kids give her a hug every single Sunday before Sacrament Meeting starts while she's sitting in her wheel chair in the back, Josh and I included actually.  Josh tried to shake her hand once and that will never happen again, hugs only. So Sharon gets four hugs every single Sunday morning.  My kids LOVE her.  When we first moved into the ward a year and a half ago Sharon was walking up the sidewalk to the church very VERY slowly with her walker and carrying her heavy bag.  Skye walked over, asked to carry her bag and then rushed to the door to hold it open for her. This was the first time meeting Sharon. He waited there for a couple minutes as she made her way to the door.  When she finally got her seat, Skye gave her her bag.  About an hour later, Skye again went up to Sharon but this time with a gift.  It was a picture he had drawn of him carrying her bag and her using her arm-walkers up the sidewalk.

For Christmas last month I got a letter in the mail. It was a scanned copy of the drawing with a note that said.  I've kept this picture on my fridge all this time, and that's where it'll stay, but I thought you should have a copy. This was special to me. Merry Christmas, Love Sharon.

Skye, you have the potential to move mountains- to change hearts and create smiles.  Use your gift your whole life, and you'll find it filled with the love of those around you, the strength to overcome anything, and the love of your Savior.
-Love your forever proud Mom
